With a carbon fiber hookless rim and a generous 30mm internal width, the NS SC i30 wheelset offers superior support for wide tires, increasing grip and stability on technical terrain. The 22mm deep full-carbon clincher rim is robust enough to handle tough trails, yet lightweight enough to keep your ride nimble and responsive. Built entirely by hand, each wheel is meticulously crafted for optimum balance and resilience.

The wheels feature aero spokes in a 28F/28R direct-pull configuration, boosting both strength and aerodynamics. From torsional strength tests to impact and fatigue resistance, these wheels are engineered to withstand the challenges of aggressive riding, including the demands of e-MTB use.

ALL-MOUNTAIN READY, E-MTB CAPABLE

Perfect for the adventurous rider, the NS SC i30 is built for all-day riding, ensuring comfort and control across varied terrain. Its robustness makes it an excellent choice for heavier-duty rides and e-MTB use, having passed FSA’s demanding e-bike certification tests. All FSA wheels undergo rigorous tests designed to evaluate their performance, durability, and reliability under various conditions.

Torsional Test: This test assesses the wheel’s resistance to torsional forces. By applying torque to the wheel, we measure how well it maintains its shape and performance under rotational stresses. This ensures the wheel can withstand the forces encountered during aggressive riding without losing its integrity or affecting its performance.

ISO Test involves subjecting the wheel to simulated impacts to test its strength and durability. We drop a 90 kg weight onto the wheel to replicate the kind of forces it might encounter during rough riding. This ensures that the wheel can handle significant impacts without compromising safety or performance.

Fatigue Test: Designed to simulate long-term use, the fatigue test evaluates how the wheel performs under repetitive stress. We test the wheel both in its upright position and at an angle to mimic real-world riding conditions. This helps us determine its durability and how well it holds up over extended periods, ensuring that it remains reliable on long rides.

Impact Test: To push the wheel’s limits, we subject it to impacts exceeding 90 Joules, well beyond the industry standard of 40 Joules. This rigorous testing guarantees exceptional resistance to high-impact forces, ensuring that the wheel can withstand even the toughest conditions and continue performing reliably.

Spoke Test: We use our Universal Testing Machine to apply a force of 150 kg to the spokes and rim holes. This test checks the durability and strength of these critical components, ensuring they can endure substantial stresses without failing. The machine also evaluates the performance of bearings and the freehub to confirm overall reliability.

Mud Test: The mud test exposes the hubs to cycles of water and mud, simulating the harshest environmental conditions. This ensures that the hubs continue to function flawlessly, with no loss of performance, even when faced with extreme dirt and moisture. This test verifies the hub’s ability to maintain smooth operation and reliability in the most challenging off-road conditions.
