Juvenile hurt after e-bike v. car crash in rural Johnson County Tuesday morning

A juvenile was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after they were hit by a car while riding an e-bike in rural Johnson County Tuesday morning.

Crews responded to the intersection of Highway 1 and 560th St. SW north of Kalona around 8:45 a.m.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office said a minor riding an e-bike tried to cross Highway 1 from 560th Street when a car that was headed south on the highway crashed into them.

The driver of the car wasn't injured, but the juvenile was taken by ambulance to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
